B. Dan Berger
Executive Vice President of Government Affairs

Dan Berger was named NAFCU's senior vice president of government affairs in January 2006 and was promoted to executive vice president in July 2009. He serves as NAFCU’s chief advocate before Congress, White House, and the federal regulatory agencies and manages the association’s legislative, political, regulatory, compliance and research divisions.

Berger brings over 20 years of government relations and political affairs experience to his post. Prior to NAFCU, he served as vice president of government relations for America’s Community Bankers, and was the chief of staff on Capitol Hill for U.S. Representative Katherine Harris.

Throughout his lobbying career, Berger has been an effective advocate and political strategist for the groups he has represented, including the Farm Bureau, Association of Realtors, and various insurance companies.

For six consecutive years, Berger has been listed as one of the most influential lobbyists in Washington by The Hill newspaper, chosen out of the 35,000 registered lobbyists on Capitol Hill.

Berger earned a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard University and a bachelor’s of science degree in economics from Florida State University . In addition, he is an adjunct professor at George Washington University in the Communication Department.

He is an active conservationist, outdoor enthusiast and enjoys spending time with his wife Aimee and five year old daughter Shelby.
