Jay Morris
Senior Vice President of Communications

Jay Morris was named senior vice president of communications for NAFCU in February 2006. He is responsible for managing NAFCU's publications, public relations and marketing programs, Web site and special projects. Morris joined NAFCU in June 2000 as vice president of communications.
Prior to joining NAFCU, Morris served as director of public affairs for the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), where he directed NAIFA’s press contact program and promoted NAIFA’s lobbying and consumer outreach efforts. During his 12 years at NAIFA, Morris worked on a range of insurance and personal finance issues, including financial services modernization and healthcare reform.
Prior to his work at NAIFA, Morris was manager of government research and publications for the National Restaurant Association. He was previously editor of the Chesapeake Post in Chesapeake, Va., and was a reporter and photographer with the Tidewater News in Franklin, Va. He has been a contributing writer for Restaurants USA, The Tidewater Virginian, City Paper, Veteran, Almanac of the Unelected and The Independent Writer.
Morris is a past board member, vice president and treasurer of Washington Independent Writers and has served on the board of the Washington chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators. He has a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia and an M.A. in English from George Mason University.
