Current Economic and Capital Market Outlook
This session will take a hard look at the where credit unions stand in the flailing financial arena, where risk aversion is on the rise as recent market volatility and wealth declines. This expert presenter will explore the depth and severity of the financial crisis and explain what some experts are calling the “new normal”. He will also evaluate the expectation that capital markets will function more normally and credit markets will thaw, particularly once low interest rates and monetary stimulus bolster risk tolerance. You will also take a look at how the possibility of higher taxes and reformed credit union regulations may undermine potential growth, while excess slack in labor and production may keep inflation in check.
Presented by David J. Goerz, III
, SVP, Chief Investment Officer, HighMark Capital Management
