NAFCU SERVICES AND MONEY CONCEPTS RELEASE PODCAST FOR CREDIT UNIONS TO HELP MEMBERS THROUGH CURRENT ECONOMIC CRISIS

WASHINGTON D.C. — NAFCU Services Corporation today announced a free educational podcast with Money Concepts, their preferred partner for financial planning and wealth management. The podcast features valuable tips from financial experts at Money Concepts, Denis Walsh, President and CEO, and Michael Thompson, National Director of Sales, about helping credit union members navigate through today’s tough economic climate. Listeners will hear about how to assist members as they struggle with situations such as declining 401(k)s and suffering stock portfolios.

This free podcast is now available at: http://www.nafcu.org/moneyconcepts.

In the podcast, Walsh advises credit unions to convey to members that a “… time like this is when you can get in trouble, and the key is not to panic.” Walsh expands, “Sit down and evaluate where you are, what your goals are, where you want to go and adjust your plan to help you get there. However, don’t make any drastic moves in times like these when the market is operating on pure emotions.”

“With all the turmoil in financial markets, credit unions have a unique opportunity to reach out to existing and prospective members,” said David Frankil, President, NAFCU Services. “We’ve always been viewed as trusted advisors, and in times like this, advice on financial planning and wealth management that people can count on will help establish lasting relationships.”
The twenty-minute podcast includes informative discussion on hot topics such as implications of members’ actions depending on their age, strategies to protect credit union members future investments, and where some of the best opportunities in the market are right now, in which Walsh explains why “this is the time to invest.”
