CU profile seeks data on diversity
NCUA informed credit unions last week of two new sections to its Credit Union Online Profile that will collect minority and diversity information.
In its latest NCUA CU Express, the agency notes that a new question under the regulatory tab for the online profile asks for the last date a credit union filed an Equal Employment Opportunity survey. This question seeks to assess credit unions' compliance with EEO laws. The response to this question will not be released publicly, NCUA said.
Under the program/services tab of the profile, NCUA is posing questions that it said will help credit unions determine if they qualify as a minority deposit institution. Credit unions are not expected to survey their members and can use general knowledge about their members to answer the questions.
Credit unions were also reminded to update information regarding their payment system service providers.
