Perlmutter, Clay confirmed for Caucus

Reps. Ed Perlmutter, D-Colo., and William Clay, D-Mo., are the latest to join the lineup of speakers for NAFCU's Congressional Caucus set for Sept. 18-21 at the Mayflower Renaissance Hotel in Washington.

Perlmutter, who is scheduled to address the Caucus Sept. 21, supported legislation that aimed to delay and study the Federal Reserve's interchange fee cap rule. He is a member of the House Financial Services Committee. Clay is set to speak Sept. 20 and is a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

These lawmakers will join 19 others who have been confirmed for the event so far. NCUA Chairman Debbie Matz and Board Members Gigi Hyland and Michael Fryzel are also slated to address the Caucus. Terry McAuliffe, former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, will be the event's keynote speaker.

In addition, credit union representatives can register for a Sept. 20 political breakfast that will feature Sen. Jon Tester, R-Mont.

NAFCU's Congressional Caucus provides an opportunity for credit union representatives to discuss issues such as member business lending, the credit union tax exemption and the future of housing finance with officials in Washington.

Registration for the Caucus is open to both NAFCU members and nonmembers. For more information, click here.
