Cordray set to address NAFCU webcast today

April 24, 2012 – Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Richard Cordray will discuss the CFPB's goals and answer credit unions' questions today during a special, free NAFCU webcast, and there is still time to register.

The program is expected to be information-packed. Just over the past week, the bureau has issued three guidance bulletins and is working on an initiative for streamlining current consumer financial services rules. It's also reviewing a proposed rule that would eliminate a Credit CARD Act disclosure that has been the subject of litigation since last July.

Carrie Hunt, NAFCU's vice president of regulatory affairs and general counsel, will moderate today's program.

Registration for the 2 p.m. webcast is free and open to all credit unions, regardless of charter type or whether they are members of NAFCU. Register online, or dial 800-344-5580.
