April 20, 2012 – Martha Ninichuk will assume her duties as deputy director of the NCUA Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives next week, NCUA said Thursday.
Ninichuk is moving to NCUA from her position as director of cooperative initiatives at the Michigan Credit Union League. That office helps facilitate innovative financial products and services to underserved and low-income populations, NCUA said. Ninichuk has also served as the Maryland and DC Credit Union Association’s vice president of consulting and credit inion services, where she worked with small credit unions on governance issues and product development. She previously ran St. Cletus CU in Warren, Mich.
Ninichuk is a graduate of Michigan State University and has undergone NCUA examiner training and USAID regulatory compliance training in Cairo.
“Martha’s wide range of experiences, from running a small credit union in Michigan, to consulting for two state leagues, to international credit union development projects, will also bring fresh perspectives to OSCUI’s work,” said NCUA Chairman Debbie Matz.
