Webcast on Reg B compliance today

April 11, 2012 – Credit unions can still register for NAFCU’s webcast this afternoon on compliance with Equal Credit Opportunity Act rules under Regulation B, which is now under the authority of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

The webcast, “Complying with Regulation B under the CFPB: Protecting Your Credit Union from Unlawful Lending,” will provide tips on how to avoid unlawful discrimination in the lending process and what the penalties are when violations do occur.

Todays’ webcast speaker is Rob Rutkowski, the managing partner of the credit union and corporate and financial services groups of Weltman, Weinberg and Reis Co., L.P.A. Rutkowski is a blogger, podcast produce and nationally recognized speaker on topics such as marketing and lending compliance, director and officer liability, identity theft and more.

In the webcast, Rutkowski will talk about the elements and types of unlawful lending discrimination; how to prevent them; specific cases of Reg B problems; consequences of violations; and what the CFPB can do in terms of enforcement.

NAFCU member and non-member representatives can register for today’s webcast. The program runs from 2-3:30 p.m. Eastern.
