Membership grows in 2011

With 62 credit unions joining NAFCU in 2011 amid economic stagnation and the overall shrinking of the industry, NAFCU's membership growth speaks to the value of the association's membership.

2011 was also a banner year for NAFCU conferences. With 400 participants, NAFCU's sold-out Volunteers Conference was the largest in the association's history. In addition, NAFCU's Annual Conference attracted more than 1,700 credit union professionals, exhibitors and guests – the second largest Annual Conference attendance ever. NAFCU's popular Regulatory Compliance School had record-breaking attendance of 180 registrants, while the association's Compliance Seminar commenced before a sold-out crowd.

NAFCU Chair Mike Lussier attributed the association's growth to NAFCU's dedicated staff and programs that offer members value.

NAFCU is already gearing up for this year's education event offerings. The first, NAFCU's 2012 Technology and Security Conference, takes place Feb. 14-16 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The early registration deadline for this conference is Friday. Credit unions can discover more about this and the rest of NAFCU's education lineup online.
