July 27, 2012 - Credit unions attending today’s Annual Conference program can take their questions about NCUA’s activities to a morning breakout session, “Regulatory Update with NCUA,” one of about a dozen educational sessions scheduled this closing day of the conference, headquartered in Nashville, Tenn.

Speakers for the regulatory update session include Larry Fazio, director of the NCUA Office of Examination and Insurance, Carrie Hunt, NAFCU’s general counsel and vice president of regulatory affairs, and Steve Van Beek, the association’s director of regulatory compliance.

Other educational sessions today will address topics such as mobile remote deposit capture, executive compensation, “advanced” asset/liability management for board directors, what directors need to know about the auditing process, branching, economic trends and what is happening with legislation important to credit unions.

NAFCU Chief Economist David Carrier will also moderate a panel discussion of members of the Credit Union Economics Group.

Today's program includes morning and afternoon general sessions. Speakers will be NAFCU President and CEO Fred Becker and Stephen Dubner, coauthor of “Freakonomics.”
