Nov. 1, 2012 – NAFCU’s Dan Berger and Brad Thaler have been recognized once again as two of the top lobbyists working on Capitol Hill, according to The Hill newspaper’s 2012 list of top lobbyists.

Berger, executive vice president of government affairs, and Thaler, vice president of legislative affairs, are no strangers to the publication’s annual list of top lobbyists. This marks the tenth year that Berger has been named to the list, and the fifth year for Thaler.

NAFCU President and CEO Fred Becker said that the publication’s “consistent recognition” of Berger and Thaler as top lobbyists “speaks volumes about their exceptional commitment to championing credit unions with members of Congress.”

In naming the two lobbyists to its 2012 list, the publication said Berger and Thaler “work to keep the industry’s tax exemption from being thrown on the fire in tax reform, and are marshalling support for legislation that would let credit unions expand.”

The Capitol Hill publication compiles the list annually from interviews with lobbyists and congressional staffers.
