Oct. 5, 2012 – Credit union professionals and volunteers should note that NAFCU will be hosting several webcasts covering key issues over the next few weeks, including Bank Secrecy Act training for board members, social media compliance and new mortgage proposals.

Next Wednesday, NAFCU will be hosting a webcast that will examine the responsibilities and duties of credit union directors under the BSA. Hosted by compliance expert John Misgen, CPA, the webcast will satisfy the BSA training requirement for credit union board directors and supervisory/audit committee members.

Social media and website compliance will be the focus of a NAFCU webcast on Oct. 24. The webcast, which will be hosted by compliance expert Justin Robinson of CliftonLarsonAllen LLP, is aimed at helping credit unions better integrate compliance into the social media and website process. An early bird discount is available through Oct. 17.

NAFCU’s Compliance Team will cover three newly unveiled mortgage proposals during a Nov. 7 webcast that were not reviewed as part of NAFCU’s highly popular, “Inside the CFPB’s Mortgage Proposals” webcast, which was held on Sept. 5.  The Nov. 7 webcast will focus on mortgage loan originator compensation,  the “higher-risk mortgage loan” appraisal proposal and proposed changes to Regulation B that would require free appraisal copies to members. Credit unions can get a sneak preview of the webcast by reviewing these recent posts on the NAFCU Compliance Blog:  Mortgage Loan Origination – Part 1; Mortgage Loan Origination – Part 2; Higher-Risk Appraisal Proposal; Regulation B Appraisal Proposal.

NCCOs will receive 1.5 credit hours for participation in this webcast. The early bird discount for this webcast expires Oct. 31.

All three webcasts are open to all credit unions, regardless of membership or charter type.

For a limited time, a 45 percent discount is available on NAFCU's 2013 Unlimited Webcast Subscription Package, which includes: over 20 content-filled webcasts, 24 hour access to each webcast, unlimited access for your entire credit union for the full 2013 calendar year, essential compliance education, a cd of each webcast and more.
