Mortgage servicing changes detailed today

April 17, 2013 – New notices, forms, processes and more affecting mortgage servicers under the CFPB's mortgage lending rules will be explained for credit unions today during NAFCU's webcast, "Preparing for New Mortgage Servicing Notices."

Featuring Suzanne Garwood, a partner in the firm of Venable LLP, today's webcast will give credit unions a run-down of three major servicing requirements affecting credit unions and a look at new model forms published by the CFPB they can use to comply.

Key requirements discussed today will include mortgage periodic statements, interest-rate adjustment notices and notices on force-placed insurance. The program will address the definition of "small servicer," certain exemptions from periodic statement requirement and disclosure and notice requirements that affect all credit unions involved in mortgage servicing.

Today's webcast is the fifth in NAFCU's CFPB Mortgage Reform Webcast Series; it begins at 2 p.m.
