Watch today's regulatory relief hearing

April 10, 2013 - NAFCU's call for regulatory relief and its comprehensive five-point plan, sent to the Hill in February, takes a significant step forward with today's hearing before the House Financial Services Committee's Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit.

The NAFCU plan, developed with input from member credit unions over the last year, contains dozens of proposals to provide credit unions with regulatory relief and needed assistance.

NAFCU is encouraging all credit unions to watch the hearing, scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern today, via the House Financial Services Committee websiteand clicking on the "Live webcasts" link in the lower lefthand corner of the homepage once the hearing has started.

Read the submitted testimonyof NAFCU's witness, Bob Burrow, President and CEO of Bayer Heritage FCU in Proctor, W.Va.

Based on conversations NAFCU is having on the Hill with members of Congress and their staff, today's hearing will be an important and productive step toward meaningful relief as lawmakers and others will join our effort calling for regulatory relief for credit unions.
