Countdown to Caucus: Donnelly to speak
Aug. 27, 2013 – Sen. Joe Donnelly, D-Ind., and Reps. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., and Gerry Connolly, D-Va., have joined the list of speakers for NAFCU’s Congressional Caucus – now two weeks away.
Donnelly is a former member of the House Financial Services Committee, as a member of the House of Representatives. Capito is a member of the House Financial Services Committee and chairman of the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit. Connolly is the ranking member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Government Operations, and is a member of the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Job Creation and Regulatory Affairs.
Donnelly, Capito and Connolly join several prominent speakers scheduled for the week, including: Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., Financial Crimes Enforcement Network Deputy Director Frederick Reynolds, NCUA Board Member Michael Fryzel and Fannie Mae President and CEO Timothy Mayopoulos. Paul Begala, noted political analyst and columnist, will give the keynote address.

Credit union representatives attending this year’s Caucus will attend three days of general sessions on key issues facing the industry – among them the credit union federal income tax exemption, regulatory relief and housing finance reform – and will be discussing their concerns about those issues with lawmakers in their Capitol Hill offices.
