Metsger sworn into NCUA Board post Aug. 23
Aug. 14, 2013 – Richard T. “Rick” Metsger will be sworn into office as an NCUA Board member Aug. 23 in a private ceremony on Capitol Hill, action that paves the way for him to attend his first NCUA Board meeting Sept. 12.
NCUA General Counsel Michael McKenna will deliver the oath of office to Metsger.
Metsger, a former Oregon state senator, was nominated to the NCUA Board May 16. His nomination was approved and reported favorably by the Senate Banking Committee June 27, and the full Senate confirmed him Aug. 1.
His term continues through Aug. 2, 2017. He succeeds former NCUA Board Member Gigi Hyland, who left the board last Oct. 5.
Metsger has selected David Shetler, a 26-year agency veteran and currently Deputy Director of the Office of National Examinations and Supervision, to serve as his interim senior policy advisor until a permanent candidate is selected.
NCUA says that once Metsger has joined the board, he can be reached at 703-518-6303.
