NAFCU at Capito housing roundtable
Aug. 28, 2013 – Dana Rawlings, the CEO of Pioneer West Virginia FCU, represented NAFCU on Tuesday at a housing roundtable hosted by Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., held in her home district.
Capito is the chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit, and is slated to speak at NAFCU’s Congressional Caucus – held at Washington’s Mayflower Renaissance Hotel – on Sept. 9. The roundtable was attended by a wide range of industry members, and featured discussion on housing finance reform, among other issues set to be taken up by Congress in the fall.
NAFCU continues to advocate for credit unions’ uninterrupted access to the secondary mortgage market, and fair pricing based on loan quality.
Credit union representatives attending this year’s Caucus will attend three days of general sessions on key issues facing the industry – among them the credit union federal income tax exemption, regulatory relief and housing finance reform – and will be discussing their concerns about those issues with lawmakers in their Capitol Hill offices. Members and nonmembers may register.
