Aug. 27, 2013 – NCUA held a private reception on Monday to honor newly sworn-in Board member Rick Metsger, which NAFCU staff attended, including Executive Vice President and COO Anthony Demangone and Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and General Counsel Carrie Hunt.
Also in attendance were Vice President of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler, Senior Regulatory Affairs Counsel Tessema Tefferi and Regulatory Affairs Counsels PJ Hoffman and Angela Meyster.
Metsger was sworn into office in a small private ceremony on Capitol Hill last Friday.
NAFCU President and CEO B. Dan Berger attended that ceremony. Berger said, “We congratulate Mr. Metsger on his new post and look forward to working with him in his new role. He will be busy tackling many regulatory and supervisory issues that affect credit unions and we believe his past experience as a credit union board member will serve him well as he takes his place on the NCUA Board.”
Metsger, a Democrat, is a former Oregon state senator. He was nominated to the NCUA Board May 16. His nomination was approved by the Senate Banking Committee June 27, and the full Senate confirmed him Aug. 1.
He succeeds former NCUA Board Member Gigi Hyland, who left the board last Oct. 5. His term continues through Aug. 2, 2017.
