NAFCU rolls out updates for GPS, Online Training
Aug. 26, 2013 – NAFCU’s compliance team recently completed updates to the Credit Union Compliance GPS electronic manual and its Online Training program, which features 14 training courses for credit union boards.
“In this regulatory environment, having updated resources is a must” said Steve Van Beek, NAFCU’s vice president of regulatory compliance. “We are always looking for ways to enhance our compliance products and the updates to the GPS and our Online Training program are the latest examples.”
The updated version of NAFCU’s 2013 Credit Union Compliance GPS is available for download by anyone who has bought the manual this year, or received it during 2013 Regulatory Compliance School (those who have not purchased the manual can do so here). The topics that received updates include: fair lending, loan participation, Regulation Z, the escrow requirement for higher-priced mortgage loans, the Credit CARD Act ability-to-repay requirement, and remittance transfers.
The Online Training program includes updates to four courses:
Introduction to Credit Unions;
How Credit Unions Are Examined;
Privacy & Security of Member Information; and
Financial Crime and the Bank Secrecy Act.
Board members who view the updated Financial Crime and the Bank Secrecy Act course can earn a training certificate to document their BSA training. Credit unions seeking a sneak peek of the Online Training program can view the full How Credit Unions Are Regulated course, free of charge.
