Becker, Enoch on hand for 'Saves' proclamation
NAFCU President and CEO Fred Becker and NAFCU Military Liaison Quincy Enoch are heading to the Pentagon today for a proclamation-signing ceremony to kick off this week's Military Saves campaign.
Jessica Wright, acting under secretary of Defense for personnel and readiness, will sign an official proclamation this afternoon declaring Feb. 25-March 2 Military Saves Week.
Credit unions that have signed up for the campaign are listed as an official "Military Saves Week Financial Institution" on the campaign's website. The site provides access to resources and tools credit unions can use to promote saving among military servicemembers and their families.
NAFCU will have staff members, including Enoch, at the Pentagon this week to assist with its Financial Readiness Fair.
Credit unions are also encouraged to sign up online to participate. Enoch noted that participating in Military Saves Week provides defense credit unions "the opportunity to showcase the great things we know your credit union is doing to help the military community."
Military Saves Week and America Saves Week run at the same time. Both campaigns encourage consumers to make responsible financial decisions to build wealth and reduce debt.
NAFCU members with questions about Military Saves Week should contact Enoch by email to qenoch@nafcu.org, or dial 703-842-2261. NAFCU members with questions about America Saves Week should contact Patty Briotta, NAFCU's public relations manager, by email at pbriotta@nafcu.org, or by dialing 703-842-2820.

[05:36] We need to be talking about risk openly. We need to be documenting and really understanding what remediating risk looks like and how you do that strategically. [16:38] Governance, risk, compliance, and adherence to regulatory controls are all being looked at much more closely. You are also seeing other technology that is coming into the fold directly responsible for helping CISOs navigate those waters.
