Feb. 26, 2013 – The annual Military Saves Week was launched at the Pentagon Monday with the signing of a proclamation by Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness Jessica Wright recognizing the importance of saving for servicemembers and their families.

NAFCU President and CEO Fred Becker and Military Liaison Quincy Enoch attended Monday's ceremony. Enoch and other NAFCU staff are returning to the Pentagon this week to help with the DoD's Financial Readiness Fair.

Credit unions signed up for the campaign are listed as an official "Military Saves Week Financial Institution" on the campaign's website. The site provides access to resources and tools credit unions can use to promote saving among military servicemembers and their families.

Military Saves Week runs concurrently with America Saves Week. Both continue through Friday.
