Jan. 8, 2013 – The CFPB on Thursday will host the first of two planned field hearings this month on mortgage policy at 11 a.m. Eastern at Westminster Hall in Baltimore, and NAFCU’s Carrie Hunt and Tessema Tefferi will be attending.
The CFPB’s qualified mortgage rule, which is expected sometime this week, will likely be a key part of the discussion.
The CFPB will be holding a second field hearing on mortgage policy Jan. 17 in Atlanta. Both field hearings will feature remarks from CFPB Director Richard Cordray and will include testimony from consumer groups, industry representatives and members of the public.
Rules on mortgage servicing, appraisals, high-cost mortgages and a final rule on loan originator compensation are expected to be issued by the end of next week.
Those interested in attending either hearing can RSVP via email to cfpb.events@cfpb.gov; include the person’s full name and organizational affiliation (if any).
