Jan. 22, 2013 – NCUA is hosting two free webinars this week – one Tuesday that looks at ways low-income-designated credit unions can improve service to low-income members, and another Thursday that examines Home Mortgage Disclosure Act reporting.
The "Strategic Issues for Serving Low-Income Members" webinar, set for 2 p.m. Eastern, will include discussion about assessing current services to low-income membership, changes that can improve services, and low-income credit union regulatory issues. The webinar will be led by NCUA’s Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives. Staff from the NCUA Office of Consumer Protection will also participate. Registration is required.
Thursday’s webinar, "HMDA: Accuracy and Timeliness," will focus on HMDA requirements for the mortgage loan/application register that is prepared each year. Experts from NCUA and the Federal Reserve Board will discuss financial institution management responsibilities in the HMDA process, address common errors and provide tips to ensure accuracy. The webinar is set for 2 p.m. Eastern. Registration is required.
Participants can submit questions in advance of either webinar at WebinarQuestions@ncua.gov. The subject line of the email should read “Low-Income Strategies Webinar” or “HMDA Webinar.”
