   Acting Deputy Assistant
       Defense Secretary

March 6, 2013 – NAFCU President and CEO Fred Becker and Military Liaison Quincy Enoch went to the Pentagon Tuesday to discuss defense credit union issues with Charles Milam, the Defense Department’s acting deputy assistant secretary for military community and family policy.

NAFCU maintains ongoing communications with DoD and its branches on issues affecting defense credit unions and others serving military servicemembers and their families.

The association participates in DoD financial literacy activities (such as the recent fair held in conjunction with Military Saves Week), advocates for credit unions in connection with on-base financial institution rules and is now keeping in contact with DoD about information on credit unions’ efforts to help their members through any furloughs they experience due to the sequester.

NAFCU is continuing to gather information from credit unions on their plans for addressing the sequester; send that information to Enoch at qenoch@nafcu.org.
