NCUA HMDA webinar available online
NCUA's Jan. 24 webinar is archived online. |
March 4, 2013 – A recent NCUA webinar examining Home Mortgage Disclosure Act reporting and Loan Application Registers is now available online, the agency announced last week.
The webinar, "HMDA: Accuracy and Timeliness," featured staff from NCUA's Office of Consumer Protection, the Federal Reserve Board and other federal financial regulators. The webinar addresses HMDA requirements for the mortgage loan/application register that is prepared each year. It also looks at financial institution management responsibilities in the HMDA process, how credit unions should prepare and submit HMDA LAR data and submissions and common errors in such reports.
Over 1,300 participants joined the 90-minute webinar when it was held on Jan. 24, NCUA said. The agency has also made the webinar's audio, presentation slides, written transcript and additional questions and answers available online.
The mortgage loan/application register is due to regulators March 1 of each year, but the information in the webinar can be helpful in prepping for the next year's reporting. For technical questions about accessing the webinar, please call 703-518-6440. Questions about the substance of the webinar or NCUA's consumer compliance policy should be forwarded to the Office of Consumer Protection at OCPMail@ncua.gov; or dial 703-518-1140.
