March 18, 2013 – Credit unions that participate in tomorrow’s NAFCU webcast will get an update on NCUA’s Bank Secrecy Act examination procedures, learn how to avoid BSA-related citations, and gain a deeper understanding of how law enforcement use the BSA.

The webcast, “BSA Compliance Update. Citations, Investigations, and Criminal Activity,” will be led by Judy Graham, program officer for NCUA, and Kent Marcum, a CenFED Credit Union board member, retired attorney and IRS criminal investigator.

The webcast will focus on how examiners will be evaluating credit unions’ compliance with BSA laws as well as how law enforcement is using the BSA to stop criminals and terrorists. It will also address the BSA’s application to currency transaction reports and suspicious activity reports.

The webcast runs from 2 – 3:30pm, Eastern. It is open to all credit unions, regardless of membership. Register now.

NAFCU would like to remind credit unions that it offers a number of resources to help credit unions better understand the BSA:
