UDAAP rules detailed in NAFCU webcast today
Oct. 30, 2013 – Jane Pannier, former president and CEO of REALTORS FCU and current senior vice president and counsel for NeighborBench LLC, will talk about how credit unions can keep up with Dodd-Frank Act requirements related to unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts and practices during today’s NAFCU webcast.
The webcast is available for live streaming today at 2 p.m. Eastern.
Pannier has an extensive history with the credit union industry and compliance, having previously specialized in consumer lending and regulatory compliance as a partner at The Rochdale Group and served as senior compliance counsel and director of NAFCU’s regulatory compliance division. Pannier will “unravel the mystery” surrounding the UDAAP requirements, and will focus on:
- how credit unions have inadvertently neglected UDAAP requirements;
- best practices for conducting a UDAAP risk assessment; and,
- recommendations for mitigating UDAAP risk.
The UDAAP provisions are meant to prevent unscrupulous acts or practices in or affecting commerce. They have become an area of ever-increasing focus for federal regulatory agencies. The requirements apply to all credit unions.
Pannier will take questions from participants. In particular, compliance, legal and risk staff are encouraged to participate in the webcast, as well as all NAFCU Certified Compliance Officers, CEOs and presidents, and quality control staff.
