NAFCU webcast offers CU boards practical tips
Sept. 24, 2013 – Today’s NAFCU webcast, “Fiduciary and Strategic Actions for CU Board Members,” will provide training to help credit union board members fulfill their roles and responsibilities in an ever-changing regulatory environment.
John Gorman and Richard Garabedian, partners at Luse Gorman Pomerenk & Schick P.C., will discuss tactics for board governance, safety and soundness, CEO oversight and strategic planning.
Gorman has advised financial institutions’ boards and senior management on fiduciary duties and corporate governance matters for more than 25 years. He is a faculty member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and served as a commissioner on the NACD Blue Ribbon Commission on Board Leadership.
For 25 years, Garabedian has been actively involved in representing credit unions on matters of corporate governance and fiduciary duties, including compliance with NCUA’s recent fiduciary duty rules for federal credit union directors. He specializes in credit union charter conversions, mutual holding companies, mutual-to-stock conversions, mergers and acquisitions and general bank regulatory matters.
