June 20, 2014 – NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger is featured in a recent CEO UPDATE article that examines how associations' CEOs take different approaches when it comes to building their leadership team.

Berger took the helm at NAFCU last August after serving as head of government affairs for several years. In the June 13 article, he discusses the advantages of not having to look outside the association to develop his leadership team. "I think my predecessor had a pretty good team in place," he is quoted saying. "I inherited some colleagues who were absolutely terrific."

He also recalled being confident in his decision, as part of his transition, to promote many staff members he was already familiar with. "Having worked with these folks, you know their strengths and weaknesses, but more importantly you know what motivates them," he said.
