June 23, 2014 – NCUA on Friday launched a new resource page on its website addressing interest-rate risk and how credit unions can prepare for changes in the rate environment.

The new page includes videos, charts showing trends that affect interest rate risk and links to NCUA regulations and letters to credit unions, interagency guidance, and best practice resources.

NCUA letters listed, among others, include 14-CU-02 on the agency’s 2014 supervisory focus; 12-CU-05 on interest-rate risk policy and program requirements; 03-CU-15 on real estate concentrations and related matters.

The agency adopted its rule requiring interest-rate risk policies and programs in January 2012. The rule has been in effect since September 2012.
