Board and supervisory committee conference grows
March 7, 2014 – Registration for NAFCU's Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee Conference this May in Maui, Hawaii, is more than double last year's total at this stage, and registration savings remain available until March 14.
The Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee Conference is designed to provide credit union volunteers with the tools they need to carry out their responsibilities, the latest information on issues and trends affecting them and their credit unions and opportunities to network with their peers in the credit union community.
This year's conference runs May 14-16 and includes Tim Harrington of T.E.A.M. Resources, networking expert Sarah Michel and entrepreneur and futurist Ross Dawson as keynote speakers.
Among this year's breakout sessions are:
- Washington Update, with NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger;
- Leadership and Value: Opportunities in Board Governance, with Ben Rogers of the Filene Research Institute;
- Understanding BSA, Fiduciary Duties and Interest-Rate Risk, with NAFCU Executive Vice President and COO Anthony Demangone; and, among others,
- Interest Rate Risk: What Does the Future Hold, with William McGuire of McGuire Performance Solutions.
Participants at this year's conference will have an opportunity to earn NAFCU's Financial Literacy Training Certificate, Supervisory Committee Training Certificate and BSA Training Certificate. Attendees can also earn credits toward CPA and NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer designations.
The Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee Conference is headquartered at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. The $100 early-registration discount ends March 14.
