Cheney set to depart top CUNA spot in June

March 13, 2013 – CUNA President and CEO Bill Cheney will leave his current post in June to become the top executive at SchoolsFirst FCU in Santa Ana, Calif., the association announced Wednesday.

NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger conveyed good wishes to Cheney as he prepared for his new position within the credit union industry. "Bill has a long history in credit unions," said Berger. "We wish him the best as he assumes his new role at SchoolsFirst."

CUNA's chairman announced a national search for its new president. Cheney has served as president and CEO of CUNA since 2010. He is also a former member of the NAFCU Board.
