NAFCU preparing for Financial Literacy Month

March 31, 2014 – NAFCU is planning to release a survey report next month, which is National Financial Literacy Month, on credit unions' financial literacy programs and will take part in a related event on Capitol Hill April 10.

National Financial Literacy Month puts the focus on helping consumers maintain a solid understanding of personal financial matters that will serve them well through all life stages.

NCUA last week announced it is conducting a free webinar, "Financial Literacy: Putting Your Mission into Action," on April 3, beginning at 2 p.m. Eastern. Registration is online. It also plans to release a new video documenting the history of America's credit unions and NCUA, which will be available on the agency's YouTube channel April 1.

Both NAFCU and NCUA will participate in the April 10 Hill event marking Financial Literacy Day for lawmakers and their staffs. NAFCU will focus on the importance of credit unions and the work that they do for their communities.
