EMV, security in view today at Mobile Payments Day

NAFCU is participating in the 2014 Mobile Payments Day today in Washington, where mobile payment companies, retailers and federal regulators will discuss security, consumer experience, EMV migration and other issues relating to the mobile payments industry.

Opening remarks at today's event, hosted by the Electronic Transactions Association, will feature Merchant Advisory Group CEO Mark Horwedel and ETA CEO Jason Oxman. Panel discussion during the day will cover the current and future landscape of mobile payments in the U.S.; data security in the mobile payments world, including discussion of recent data breaches and EMV; and consumer engagement though mobile apps and wallets. Other companies represented at today's event include: PayPal, Amazon, Visa, Walmart, AT&T Services and Intuit, among others.

Federal Trade Commission Commissioner Maureen Olhausen will deliver the keynote during the event.

NAFCU works in support of financial services innovation and technology, keeping safety and data security as top priorities. NAFCU Senior Regulatory Affairs Counsel Angela Meyster is attending today's conference.
