September 4, 2014

New NCUA Board Member Mark McWatters named Sarah Vega as his senior policy advisor Wednesday.

Vega previously served in the same position for former NCUA Board Member Michael Fryzel and as his chief of staff when he served as board chairman.

McWatters said, "Sarah's experience in the credit union system, and particularly her nearly six years with NCUA, will be of enormous value to me. I look forward to getting to work and having her advice and perspective as we tackle the challenges ahead."

Before serving at NCUA, Vega worked for Hudson Legal Chicago and the Credit Union Division of the Illinois Department of Financial Institutions. She also served on the board of directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank Chicago as well as the board of the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors.
