NAFCU briefing and call with CUs Friday on Home Depot
NAFCU is holding an informational phone call Friday at 4 p.m. Eastern for credit unions seeking more information on participation in the litigation over the Home Depot data breach.
The Home Depot breach occurred between April and September of last year and is the subject of at least 57 civil suits against the chain. These suits are being consolidated into an amended complaint, which is due to be filed by May 15.
As many as 56 million credit and debit cards may have been compromised in the breach, the company said last September.
Credit unions interested in participating in tomorrow's call should contact Carrie Hunt, NAFCU's senior vice president of government affairs and general counsel, by email to chunt@nafcu.org. Hunt will also explain the suit and how NAFCU will be assisting its members in a video message and briefing; that video will be sent out Friday.
NAFCU strongly supports all avenues for its members to receive reimbursement for their losses due to data breaches.
