Official ballots sent today for NAFCU Board election

The official ballots for voting in NAFCU's 2015 at-large board election are being sent to members today. Voting in this year's board election is being conducted online for the first time.

At-large candidates on the slate are:

  • Robert Fisher (Grow Financial Federal Credit Union, Fla.);
  • Edmond Jordan (Essential Federal Credit Union, formally Dow Louisiana Federal Credit Union, La.);
  • Mark Lesnau (North Carolina Community Federal Credit Union, N.C.);
  • James Quinn (Pentagon Federal Credit Union, Va.);
  • Debra Schwartz (Mission Federal Credit Union, Calif.); and
  • Issa Stephan (First Financial Federal Credit Union, N.J.).

Schwartz is an incumbent at-large director running for reelection. At-Large Director Cutler Dawson (Navy Federal Credit Union, Va.) this year will complete his third consecutive three-year term, the maximum permitted by NAFCU's bylaws.

Gary Easterling, CEO of United Federal Credit Union in St. Joseph, Mich., was the outright winner in NAFCU's Region 1 director election and will take his board post following the close of the association's annual business meeting this June in Montreal. He will succeed Mike Parsons, president and CEO of First Source Federal Credit Union in New Hartford, N.Y., who will have completed his third consecutive three-year term.

The deadline for submitting official ballots is May 4.
