CFPB's Ellis in today's Regulatory Committee call

NAFCU Regulatory Committee members will hear today from Elizabeth Ellis, CFPB's deputy director for the Office of Financial Institutions and Business Liaison, on activities underway at the bureau.

CFPB released a final rulemaking agenda this spring that pointed to final action soon on proposed amendments to Home Mortgage Disclosure Act recordkeeping and reporting rules. The proposed rule would increase the number of data points covered and contemplates quarterly reporting for some.

The proposed rule also, for research purposes, would expand the scope of reportable transactions to include home equity lines of credit. NAFCU, in its official comment, questioned the increase in data points and additional transactions that would be covered by the proposed rule.
