Berger, Contreras-Sweet meet at CU's headquarters
NAFCU President Dan Berger and Small Business Administration Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet will meet today at Washington Gas Light Federal Credit Union, a NAFCU member institution, to discuss ways of educating credit unions on SBA micro lending.
The two will give formal remarks this morning that will address efforts between NAFCU and SBA to get more credit unions involved in lending to small businesses. Lynette Smith, president and CEO of Washington Gas Light FCU (Springfield, Va.), will host the event.
Contreras-Sweet, scheduled to testify at 2 p.m. today before the House Small Business Committee, first announced SBA's working relationship with NAFCU in a speech last year before an AARP conference in San Diego. Today's committee hearing addresses SBA's fiscal 2016 budget.
