Savings Thursday on mortgage rules webcast

Tomorrow is the early bird deadline for registration savings for NAFCU's 2015 webcast update on the proposed changes to CFPB mortgage servicing rules, set for Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. Eastern.

Williams, Gautier, Gwynn, DeLoach & Sorenson President John DeLoach will be the instructor for the webcast, which will focus on rule changes made during 2015 as well as expectations ahead on proposed rule changes outstanding since 2014.

DeLoach will discuss expected revisions, including the expansion of servicing rules to cover "successors in interest," the addition of a loss mitigation application and continuing periodic statement requirements for bankrupt borrowers.

Another upcoming NAFCU webcast will focus on effective risk management and how to identify potential hazards. NAFCU Director of Education Devon Lyon will focus on how to tailor a risk management program to suit each credit union as well as how to anticipate examiners' expectations. The early bird deadline for registration is Dec. 9 and the webcast is set for Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. Eastern.

Last week, Safe Deposit Specialists President David McGuinn led a webcast on alarm systems and security procedures for safe deposit vaults; this webcast and others are available on-demand for one year after being broadcast, through NAFCU's Online Training Center.
