NCUA, other regulators offer flood insurance webinar Oct. 22
A one-hour webinar covering recent updates to the flood insurance regulations is slated Oct. 22 and will include representatives from NCUA and other federal regulators.
The webinar will begin at 12:30 p.m. Eastern. Online registration is now open. NCUA will be joined by representatives from the Federal Reserve Board, the Farm Credit Administration, the FDIC and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
Topics covered will include:
- escrow of flood insurance premiums and fees;
- force-placed flood insurance; and
- the detached structures exemption.
These regulators released a joint final rule in June that modifies regulations that apply to loans secured by properties located in special flood hazard areas. The final rule has provisions that took effect Oct. 1 and other that take effect Jan. 1.
