NAFCU names Lyon as director of education

NAFCU has named Devon Lyon, a NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO), as the association's director of education – action that bolsters NAFCU's strategy to focus on its three core competencies: advocacy, education and compliance.

In this newly created position, Lyon will oversee the development and administration of content for education programs for NAFCU members to further the association's goals and to ensure that the programs have the highest professional content and quality. The programs include NAFCU's conference education programs, webcasts, webexes, certifications and the Online Training Center.

"Devon is a great addition to our already outstanding team," said NAFCU Executive Vice President and COO Anthony Demangone. "Education is an integral part of NAFCU's offerings to members.In recognition of its significance, we created this position with a singular focus on education and training."

Before joining NAFCU, Lyon was director of compliance and Bank Secrecy Act and project management at State Department Federal Credit Union. In that role, he developed, implemented and led State Department FCU's core conversion.

Lyon holds a law degree from Albany Law School of Union University and has a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Binghamton University.
