NAFCU at national security telecommunications meeting
NAFCU today will participate in a meeting of the President's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee focused on cybersecurity initiatives.
NAFCU Regulatory Affairs Counsel Ann Kossachev will attend the meeting, which is in Washington.
The meeting will include a discussion of government cybersecurity initiatives and the effect of new technology on national security and emergency preparedness procedures. The meeting will also include a review of the draft National Cyber Incident Response Plan. Members of the public will also be invited to give input.
The committee's purpose is to develop recommendations for the president regarding telecommunication during an event or crisis. The committee is composed of 21 presidential appointees representing different elements of the telecommunications industry.
NAFCU continues to push for better and more efficient cybersecurity on behalf of the credit union industry.
