NAFCU talks CU issues, advocacy priorities with NCUA

NAFCU Executive Vice President of Government Affairs and General Counsel Carrie Hunt and top members of the association's government affairs team went to NCUA this week to discuss credit union concerns and related advocacy goals.

On Monday, Hunt, accompanied by NAFCU Vice President of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler and Director of Regulatory Affairs Alexander Monterrubio, met with the NCUA Office of Public and Congressional Affairs to discuss the association's top advocacy priorities for the coming year.

On Tuesday, Monterrubio also met with the NCUA Office of National Examinations and Supervision to discuss corporate credit unions, the Financial Accounting Standards Board's current-expected-credit-loss (CECL) standard and the NCUA's examination plans for 2017. NAFCU Chief Economist and Director of Research Curt Long and Senior Regulatory Affairs Counsel Michael Emancipator also attended.
