Webcast for board members eyes bribery, BSA issues

Credit union board members will learn about federal rules addressing bank bribery, activities that may point to insider dealing and ways to prevent Bank Secrecy Act violations during a NAFCU webcast at 2 p.m. Eastern today.

The webcast, "Bank Bribery Issues from a Board Member's Perspective," will focus on what a director or official needs to know about regulations, best practices and penalties for regulatory non-compliance; case studies of BSA violations; and the ethics and required policies relating to insider dealings. CliftonLarsonAllen Senior Audit Manager Chuck Kelly and Principal Kenneth Welch will be the webcast instructors.

Tomorrow, NAFCU's regulatory affairs team will discuss the current regulatory environment for credit unions and upcoming regulations expected from CFPB and NCUA. The webcast will be led by NAFCU Director of Regulatory Affairs Alicia Nealon, Senior Regulatory Affairs Counsel Michael Emancipator, and Regulatory Affairs Counsels Alexander Monterrubio and Kavitha Subramanian.
