Webcasts: Bank bribery, reg update, ACH payments

Credit unions are encouraged to take advantage of several upcoming NAFCU webcasts this week and next covering bank bribery, a regulatory update and one on the automated clearinghouse payment rules.

During Wednesday's webcast, "Bank Bribery Issues from a Board Member's Perspective," credit union viewers will learn to identify what a director or official needs to know about rules, regulations, best practices and penalties for non-compliance; review examples and case studies of violations of Bank Secrecy Act rules and regulations; and discuss ethics rules and practices and required policies for insider dealings.

On Thursday, NAFCU's regulatory affairs team will discuss the current regulatory environment for credit unions and upcoming regulations expected from CFPB and NCUA. The webcast will be led by NAFCU Director of Regulatory Affairs Alicia Nealon, Senior Regulatory Affairs Counsel Michael Emancipator, and Regulatory Affairs Counsels Alexander Monterrubio and Kavitha Subramanian.

Key topics covered Thursday include CFPB's 2016 agenda (overdraft, mortgage servicing, prepaid products, the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, and payday and small-dollar lending). NCUA's field-of-membership, member-business-lending and risk-based capital rulemakings will also be covered.

Early-bird savings of $100 end tomorrow for NAFCU's Feb. 2 webcast detailing ACH payment rules. During this webcast, credit unions will discover the ACH compliance rules that took effect Jan. 1 and will gain clarity on compliance topics in the ACH rulemaking process, such as international ACH transactions and enforcement.

All three webcasts begin at 2 p.m. Eastern. NAFCU's webcasts remain for 12 months after the live broadcast. In addition, credit unions can get these and more than 40 other webcasts on 10 compliance topics for just one price, with NAFCU's Compliance Webcast and Online Training Subscription.
