NCUA Board eyes mid-year budget, NCUSIF report today
The NCUA Board is slated to address the 2016 mid-year budget review during its open meeting today, which will also include a quarterly report on the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund and briefing on the agency's 2017-2021 strategic plan.
Last month, NCUA Board Chairman Rick Metsger announced at NAFCU's Annual Conference that the agency will hold a public budget briefing this October and release details of the agency's 2017-2018 budget plans in advance.
NAFCU has long advocated a return to public budget hearings from the agency. NAFCU has also asked that credit union stakeholders have at least 60 days to review the budget before the briefing.
Today's open meeting, slated for 10 a.m. Eastern, will be followed by a closed session. There is no meeting scheduled for August.
