NCUA, FTC slate military consumer live chat

NCUA and the Federal Trade Commission will co-host a live Twitter chat on servicemember financial issues July 27 at 11 a.m. Eastern.

NCUA Office of Consumer Protection Financial Literacy and Outreach Analyst Kenneth Worthey will join FTC staff to discuss how servicemembers can protect themselves and their families from predatory lenders offering payday, auto and student loans.

Worthey and FTC staff will offer resources from their respective consumer-focused sites, MyCreditUnion.gov and the FTC's "Just For You" site for military families.

Participants can join the chat by following NCUA's consumer-focused handle @MyCUgov and using the hashtag #NCUAChat. Participants can also submit questions in advance to socialmedia@ncua.gov.
