FFIEC State Liaison Committee elects chairman

The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council on Monday announced the election of Karen Lawson as chairman of the council's State Liaison Committee.

The agency also announced the appointment of Edward "Joe" Face to the committee. The committee is made up of five representatives of state banking agencies that supervise financial institutions.

Lawson is the director of the Office of Banking for the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services. Face is the commissioner of financial intuitions for the Virginia State Corporation Commission's Bureau of Financial Institutions.

The FFIEC has six voting members, including the heads of NCUA and CFPB and a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.
